Jack Daniels (pictured) posted his first affiliated win, taking a novice section at Aston-le-Walls, jumping a lovely double clear. Travis IV also jumped a double clear, this time in an intermediate section, to finish just outside the top 10.
Dissington Wizard also performed well for a good intermediate finish, his first run at the level.
The only disappointment of the weekend was Jo Brett’s ‘North Astor Cooter’ picked up an insect bite on the back of his leg on Saturday night which left him very sensitive. He was sound and went to dressage (28.4) and showjumping (4 faults) but was withdrawn before the cross country so as not to risk something getting in the boot and irritating it. He is sound and well now – just one of those unfortunate things.
