The team has had a busy few days. First it was down the road to Fieldhouse for the Burghley qualifier, with all three five-year-olds finishing in the top 10; Ruth Williams’ One Night Only placed fifth, John Wrottesley’s Luckington was ninth and Dissington Stud’s Faerlie Edited 10th.
Then it was on to Aston-le-Walls for some Novice runs. Omard Lady Lot jumped a lovely double clear with a 23 test, just a few penalties dropping her down to fourth. Primiro jumped a lovely cross country clear, but had a rail down to finish just outside the top 10.
In just her second run at novice level, My Cool Gold pulled off a steady double clear, while My Forever Blue stepped up to do his first novice with just a green 20 penalties across country.
If that wasn’t enough, the team then headed off to Little Downham, with the five-year-olds in the BE90Open. Faerlie Edited just missed out on the win due to a couple of cross country time penalties, while Luckington made her eventing debut for a 26.8 test, one rail down and a very green cross country round. She will have learnt so much and is a serious prospect for the future. One Night Only did a good test, show jumped clear and was great across country apart from a cheeky moment at the ditch.
Becky Murfin and Burton’s Girl just added a pole to their dressage score for sixth in their BE90 section and working pupil Efa Davis on her own Fargo completed their second ever event with a great cross country clear.
