Team Brakewell have had a busy couple of days. First stop was Norton Disney, where Jill Sackett’s Primiro jumped a double clear in the BE100 for 5th place. Fin Millar’s Omard Lady Lot (pictured) rolled a pole but pinged around the cross country in her first BE100.
Mark Johnson and Yvonne Mott’s My Cool Gold was on great form, just had an unfortunate glance off at a corner, while My Forever Blue rolled a pole after a lovely dressage test, but went uncharacteristically green across country – he will have learnt a lot from the day.
Katy had a character building day with a very lively Chill Chick who will hopefully come out next week much calmer(!). Meanwhile Becky M had a good start to her season with Burtons Girl in the BE90.
Then it was on to Breckenbrough, well worth the trip having rerouted from Thoresby. The event offered an exceptionally well built cross country course – a true Novice test and perfect before the horses step up next time out.
Sally Hayward and Mary MacGregor’s Drumgiven Mr Charisma jumped a perfect double clear for 6th place with a 30 dressage and just a few time penalties. Molly Jackson and Rupert Neal’s Swhiskey did a beautiful 27.3 test, clear XC but had a late 20 on course in an otherwise perfect round.
